On November 3, 2021, BasiGo marked its entry into Nairobi's public transport scene, bringing electric buses to the city's roads.

The startup has partnered with BYD Automotive, a Chinese EV maker, to assemble its buses locally using parts from China.

BasiGo's buses come in two capacities: 25 and 36 seats, with a range of approximately 250 kilometers, sufficient for daily round trips.

The company has secured $1 million in pre-seed funding to support its operations.
