Deputy President William Ruto's 'Bottom Up' economic blueprint is gaining popularity as he continues to traverse the country ahead of the 2022 Elections.

On November 2, 2021, Ruto visited Nyamira County and made a stopover at a modest cafe named Bottom-Up Hotel in Bomwagamo, North Mugirango, Nyamira County.

The cafe, owned by Zachary Matunda and his wife, was a perfect fit for Ruto's 'Bottom Up' vision, which emphasizes the importance of small-scale traders and farmers in the country's economic development.

While it remains unclear when the owners named the hotel 'Bottom Up', Ruto capitalized on the opportunity and sat down for a cup of tea and mandazi with the owners.

Matunda explained that they chose the name because it symbolizes their struggle to rebuild their life after he lost his job.

Ruto later gifted Matunda a cash donation of Sh100k, with his wife immediately breaking into prayer in gratitude.

During his visit, Ruto also opened Administrative Police quarters at Itibo Chief's Camp and engaged farmers from 17 tea buying centers.

As part of his 'Bottom Up' vision, Ruto emphasized the importance of small-scale traders and farmers in the country's economic development.
