November 2, 2021, marked a significant milestone in the Kenyan corporate scene, with the release of the Knight Frank Wealth Report highlighting the growing number of women billionaires in the country.

Among them is Jane Wangui Njuguna, a trailblazing entrepreneur who has defied societal stereotypes to build a business empire worth over Ksh 3 billion.

Wangui's success story is a testament to her hard work and determination, as she has managed to keep a low profile despite being one of the country's wealthiest individuals.

As the wife of celebrated banker James Mwangi, Wangui has been able to leverage her husband's influence to build her business empire, which includes a significant stake in one of Kenya's largest banks.

According to reports, Wangui owns Ksh 3.7 billion worth of shares in the bank, making her one of the largest shareholders in the institution.

Her business acumen has also led her to invest in other sectors, including real estate and hospitality, through her investment vehicle, Filimbi Limited.

Established in 2011, Filimbi Limited operates in the Investment Services sector and has a single branch or associated company.

Wangui's husband, James Mwangi, has earned worldwide recognition for his achievements, including being named Forbes Africa Person of the Year in 2012.

"My wife calls me James…It is fun, sitting together in the kitchen and watching her cook," Mwangi stated in a past interview.

The couple has three children and has managed to keep a low profile despite their wealth and influence.
