Kenya Records 70 New Covid-19 Cases, Total Hits 253,409

On November 2, 2021, the Ministry of Health confirmed 70 new Covid-19 cases in Kenya, bringing the country's total caseload to 253,409.

According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the cases were detected from 5,755 samples tested within the last 24 hours, raising the total number of samples tested to 2,714,255. The country's positivity rate stands at 1.2 per cent.

Of the new cases, 65 were Kenyans, while five were foreigners. The age range of the new cases was diverse, with a three-year-old child being the youngest and a 97-year-old being the oldest.

Thirty-six patients have recovered from the disease, with 29 patients recovering at home and seven at various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 246,957.

Unfortunately, one patient succumbed to the virus, bringing the death toll to 5,282.
