On November 2, 2021, Justice Teresia Matheka directed lawyer Karanja Mbugua to respond within 14 days to the Attorney General's application to join the case of lawyer Hari Gakinya seeking to be the executor of the property of Dysseleer Mireille Lesoipa, a Belgian widow who has been missing since October 2018.
According to the Attorney General, documents used by Gakinya to file the succession case in December 2019 were forgeries. The AG wants to join the inheritance case and stop it from proceeding, citing fraud, illegality, and concealment of material facts.
State Counsel Sonia Wanjeri stated that the AG would shed light on the alleged forged documents Gakinya used to file the case, including a death certificate that was disowned by the State Department of Civil Registration and a claim that Mireille died at MP Shah Hospital on July 15, 2019, which the hospital denied.
Justice Matheka also directed the AG's office to serve a further supporting affidavit dated October 22, 2021, to Gakinya.
The case will be mentioned on November 15, 2021.
