On June 16th, Vera Sidika made headlines with her pregnancy reveal, and two weeks ago, she welcomed her baby girl, Asia. Despite being busy with motherhood, Vera has been engaging with her fans on social media, sharing her experiences and insights on raising a young child.

Asia's Rise to Fame

One of the topics Vera has been discussing with her fans is the protocol of naming their children. Her daughter Asia has already gained a significant following, with over 48,000 followers on her Instagram account in less than two weeks.

This is not surprising, given that Vera and her partner are public figures with a large following. Vera's unique name choice for her daughter has, however, sparked controversy, with some people struggling to pronounce it correctly.

"If you have a problem with pronouncing our child's name right, better call her Brown Junior. The kinda ridiculous pronunciations I've heard of Asia (continent) got me wondering if I'm living in the same world as everyone else..."

When asked about the origin of Asia's name, Vera explained that it was her idea and that she didn't follow traditional naming practices. She shared on her Instagram stories:

"We haven't named Asia after anyone. We don't follow culture sijui old school traditions."

She continued to urge her fans to be free in naming their children without following traditional naming practices.

"It's 2021. New era. Alaa U can give your baby a whole brand new name. Start to finish."
