Kenya has confirmed 29 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the national tally to 253,339, as of October 1st, 2021.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the cases were detected from 3,684 samples tested within the same period, raising the total to 2,708,500. The country's positivity rate is at 0.8 per cent.
Of the cases, 22 are Kenyans, while seven are foreigners, 16 are males and 13 are females. The youngest is a five-year-old child while the oldest is 83 years old.
Health officials have confirmed that 92 patients had recovered from the disease, with 53 from the home-based and isolation care while 39 are from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 246,921.
No deaths were reported, keeping the countrywide Covid-19 death toll at 5,281.
