Published on November 1, 2021, Cyrus Jirongo, a prominent Kenyan businessman and politician, sat down with us to discuss his views on polygamy, family, and politics.

When asked about his generosity and alleged wastefulness, Jirongo responded, 'What did I come with to this world? Why would I deny you to enjoy the extra that I have, that I want to hold it.' He emphasized the importance of giving and serving others, stating, 'It is through giving that you receive.'

Jirongo also addressed the topic of wills, stating that his children are 'very good friends' and do not need a will. He explained that he has watched his children grow and has seen how they behave with money and when they don't have it.

Regarding polygamy, Jirongo stated that the law allows it and that it is a natural part of human nature. He advised men to be honest and open about their relationships, saying, 'Let the other members of the family know that she is not the only one.'

Jirongo also shared his experiences as a businessman and politician, stating that he has slept in jail due to financial difficulties and has been helped by President Uhuru. He emphasized the importance of honesty and integrity in politics, saying, 'Unfortunately, I am a son of a pastor, brought up by my mother, she died in 2014. She was a deeply religious woman and we were taught to be truthful, to say what is wrong without blinking.'

He concluded by stating that his biggest weakness is speaking the truth, and that he believes it is time to bring sanity into politics.
