Covid-19 Positivity Rate Drops to 0.6% as 17 New Cases Emerge

On Sunday, 31st October, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced 17 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the national tally to 253,310.

According to Kagwe, the cases were detected from 3,014 samples tested in the last 24 hours, out of a total of 2,704,816 samples tested so far. The country's positivity rate has dropped to 0.6%.

Of the new cases, 16 are Kenyans and one foreigner, with nine males and eight females. The youngest case is a one-year-old infant, while the oldest is 95 years old.

Meanwhile, 64 patients have recovered from the disease, with 61 recovering through the Home-Based Isolation and Care program and three discharged from various health facilities countrywide. The total number of recoveries now stands at 246,829.

The Covid-19 death toll has risen to 5,281 after five more patients succumbed to the disease.

There are currently 478 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,203 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program. Additionally, 25 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 13 on ventilatory support and 12 on supplemental oxygen.
