On October 31, 2021, a devastating fire engulfed a dormitory at Buruburu High School in Nairobi, leaving students with no choice but to jump from the third floor to escape the inferno.
According to eyewitnesses, pedestrians and motorists in the area reported hearing screams emanating from the school as thick smoke billowed out of the building.
Buruburu sub-county police commander Francis Kamau confirmed the incident, stating that the fire brigade team was quickly deployed to the scene in response to distress calls.
