On October 31, 2021, Mandera Governor Ali Roba hosted a fundraiser for the United Democratic Movement (UDM) party at a high-end hotel in Nairobi. The event, which was attended by various political leaders, aimed to raise funds for the party's revival.
Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi, the Guest of Honour, praised the party's efforts to provide a platform for the pastoralist communities to discuss their issues. Other leaders who attended the fundraiser, including Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui and Marsabit Governor Ali Muhamud, congratulated the party leadership for their efforts. The event was a significant step towards revamping the party and providing a platform for the people of Northern Kenya.
