On a sunny Sunday, October 31st, 2021, the 18th edition of the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon took place, crowning Elisha Kiprop and Valentine Kipketer as the champions in their respective categories.

Kiprop dominated the men's 42km race, crossing the finish line in 2:11:07, narrowly beating Alphonce Kigen (2:11:11) and Joshua Kogo (2:11:14) to secure the top three spots.

Valentine Kipketer outsmarted Naomi Chepkogei Maiyo to win the women's category in 2 hours, 30 minutes, and 02 seconds, with Chepkogei coming in second at 2:32:23 and Lilian Chemweno taking third place at 2:34:14.

Other notable winners included Vincent Ng'etich, who won the men's 21km half marathon in 1:01:44, and Peris Engambi, who took the top spot in the women's 21km event in 1:12:59.

Geoffrey Kipchumba emerged victorious in the men's 10km race with a time of 28:27.2, while Faith Chepkoech won the women's 10km event in 33:15.0.

Each of the winners in both categories took home a prize of Ksh2 million.
