On Saturday night, a devastating road accident occurred along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, claiming the lives of two people and leaving two others critically injured.
The incident took place at Karai centre, approximately 10 kilometres from Naivasha town, where a saloon car collided head-on with a bus.
According to James Kabono, a member of the Naivasha Road Safety Group, the driver of the saloon car was heading to Nairobi with four occupants when the accident occurred.
Mr. Kabono stated that the driver was overtaking a fleet of vehicles around midnight when he rammed into the oncoming bus destined for Western Kenya.
Naivasha police commander Samuel Waweru attributed the accident to reckless driving, with three passengers in the bus escaping with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the Kenya National Highway Authority (KENHA) has closed a section of the Naivasha-Njabini road for 21 days to facilitate the completion of ongoing construction works.
