Kenya Reports 133 New Covid-19 Cases, Death Toll Reaches 5,522

On October 29, 2021, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced 133 new Covid-19 cases from the 5,522 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The country's cumulative number of samples tested now stands at 2,696,852, with a positivity rate of 2.4 per cent.

Of the new cases, 130 are Kenyans and three are foreigners, with 70 being males and 63 females. The youngest case is a one-year-old infant, while the oldest is 86 years old.

52 patients have recovered, with 13 from various health facilities countrywide and 39 from home-based and isolation care. The total number of recoveries now stands at 246,621.

Three more patients have succumbed to the virus, bringing the death toll to 5,522.

There are currently 463 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,255 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

As of October 28, 2021, a total of 5,226,128 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, 3,642,163 were partially vaccinated, while 1,583,965 were fully vaccinated.
