One Kenya Alliance (OKA) is facing a crisis, with reports emerging of a stalemate within the coalition. At the heart of the matter are allegations of secret meetings between some OKA principals and other political players, sparking suspicion and mistrust among the coalition's leaders.
According to sources, former Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka is in possession of the OKA registration certificate, fueling concerns that he may be holding talks with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga about a future working arrangement between the two.
These allegations have left Musalia Mudavadi, the leader of the ANC party and a key figure in OKA, feeling uncomfortable. He is reportedly considering forming a new coalition outfit called Kenya Kwanza, a move that could potentially destabilize the OKA coalition.
Mudavadi's camp has denied these claims, stating that they are only interested in securing the OKA name to prevent spoilers from running away with the party.
It is worth noting that Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga have a history of working together, dating back to 2007 when they formed the Orange Democratic Movement Kenya party. However, their partnership ultimately fell apart, with Musyoka retaining possession of the party's registration papers.
