On October 29, 2021, the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) announced plans to investigate Pastor James Nganga's television channel, Sasa TV, amid public outcry over allegedly unsuitable content.

The investigation comes after Pastor Nganga's sermon, in which he claimed to have fathered over 70 children with women from the Ukambani region, went viral on social media and sparked widespread criticism.

Some Kenyans have called for the closure of Sasa TV, citing concerns that Pastor Nganga's content is not suitable for live television, particularly on Sundays when children are at home.

While Pastor Nganga's church later apologized for airing the content, the MCK has vowed to take action if the channel is found to be broadcasting offensive material.

According to the MCK, the investigation aims to determine whether Sasa TV has been publishing content that is deemed unsuitable for the public.
