Gospel singer Ruth Matete has spoken out about her life-changing experience after her husband's sudden death in a fire accident four months after their wedding.
According to a YouTube interview, Ruth revealed that the tragic incident occurred just a week after they discovered they were expecting a baby.
Ruth and her late husband Beloved John met in 2017 and dated for four years before tying the knot in November 2019.
After learning of her husband's passing, Ruth confessed that she momentarily forgot about her unborn baby, overwhelmed by grief for her partner of just four months.
Seeking solace, Ruth drew upon her past experience with depression, which she had been managing through counseling sessions before her marriage.
She credited her counselors and friends who were also counselors for their unwavering support during this difficult time.
As Ruth reflected on her past, she revealed that her childhood was marked by an unstable home environment and a traumatic experience of being raped by a stranger, which she believes contributed to her depression.
