Kenya Simbas head coach Paul Odera has named Kabras backrow Dan Sikuta as the captain of the team for their upcoming tour of South Africa, which will serve as preparation for next year's World Cup qualifiers.
On October 29, 2021, Odera announced his 36-man squad for the tour, which will include a series of matches in South Africa. The team will kick off their tour with a tie against the Currie Cup All Stars in the Carling Champions Cup in Pretoria on November 6, 2021.
After that, they will travel to Stellenbosch for the Quadrangular series between November 14th and 20th, 2021. They will wind up their tour with a clash against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on November 25th, 2021.
Meanwhile, South Africa Rugby Union has released the starting Champions Team team, which was chosen by fans of the domestic Currie Cup teams. The team features an extended replacements' bench and is stacked with players from the Bulls.
The Simbas squad to South Africa includes forwards such as Ian Njenga, Joshua Chisanga, and Eugene Sifuna, as well as backs like Barry Robinson, Brian Wahinya, and Derrick Ashiundu.
Non-travelling reserves include Nesta Okotch, Melvin Thairu, and Bethuel Anami.
