Zee Expands Reach in Kenya with StarTimes Partnership

On October 29, 2021, Zee Entertainment announced the launch of Zee TV, Zee One, and Zee Tamizh on the StarTimes media platform in Kenya.

The channels will showcase a diverse selection of family-oriented programming, including award-winning series, lifestyle, food, reality, and highly acclaimed movies. Zee One will feature English-dubbed content, while Zee TV and Zee Tamizh will offer English subtitles.

With a strong global presence and over 40 channels, Zee has reached over 1.3 billion viewers in 173 countries. The brand first ventured into Africa 25 years ago, launching Zee TV, and has since expanded its presence on the continent with multiple channels, including flagship channel Zee World.

According to Somnath Malakar, CEO Africa and Indian Ocean Islands, Zee's corporate positioning is 'Extraordinary Together,' with a vision to provide an amplified brand experience and delight consumers worldwide by creating extraordinary entertainment and experiences that inspire to transcend the ordinary.

StarTimes Regional Marketing Director Aldrine Nsubuga noted that the channels will be available to Kenyan subscribers from November 1, 2021, and that the company is committed to enriching the platform with diverse content to meet the whole family's entertainment viewing experience.

Subscribers can access Zee TV on channel 510 (terrestrial) and 557 (satellite), Zee One on channel 509 (terrestrial) and 553 (satellite), and Zee Tamizh on channel 558 (terrestrial).
