On October 29, 2021, President Uhuru Kenyatta celebrated his 60th birthday, marking a significant milestone in his life and presidency.

As the son of Kenya's founding father, Jomo Kenyatta, Uhuru Kenyatta has carried the weight of the nation's expectations on his shoulders. However, despite his efforts, his legacy is likely to be overshadowed by that of his predecessor, Mwai Kibaki, who rose to power with significant challenges and achieved remarkable success in just two years.

One of the most notable achievements of Mwai Kibaki's presidency was his ability to re-engineer the economy and set the country free from debt. In 2004, he ensured that the national budget was fully funded by the taxpayer for the first time in 40 years.

On the other hand, Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency has been marred by controversy and criticism. He has been accused of extending his nation's hands for shackling by external debtors, having borrowed more in nine years than his three predecessors did in 50 years.

Despite these challenges, Uhuru Kenyatta has remained committed to his role as President. In a recent public performance, he stood to attention as the national anthem rang out, a poignant reminder of the weight of responsibility that comes with the office.
