Paris Saint-Germain has announced the signing of former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera on a free transfer, with the 29-year-old Spaniard committing to a five-year deal until 2024.
Published on July 5, 2019, Herrera spent five years at Old Trafford before leaving Manchester United this summer, during which time he won one Europa League, one FA Cup, and one EFL Cup.
He joins the French champions as a free agent, meaning Manchester United failed to make any money on the player, who was valued at around £29 million when he joined from Athletic Bilbao in 2014.
During his time at Manchester United, Herrera scored 20 goals and made 27 assists in over 185 matches in all competitions, and was instrumental in the club's Europa League triumph in 2017.
Reacting to his move, Herrera said he was looking forward to living in Paris, which he described as 'the world's most beautiful city.'
He also vowed to be professional and passionate in his dealings with the club, and promised to improve his French, saying 'I think that the language is very important for the team's communication.'
