Published on October 28, 2021, Jamaican Reggae artiste Etana, known by her stage name Etana, is set to perform at the Waterfront in Nairobi this weekend.
Etana's visit to Nairobi marks the first major international celebrity performance in Kenya since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country in March 2020, causing lockdowns and a night curfew that was only lifted last week.
As the major headliner for the Pamoja Live concert, Etana expressed her excitement about the opportunity to stage the best performance and awaken the entertainment industry with the Pamoja Festival.
During her visit, Etana paid a courtesy call to Nairobi County Deputy Governor and Acting Governor, Ann Kananu, where they discussed various issues, including the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy.
"Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Nairobi continues to be a magnet for International Celebrities due to its friendly people, rich culture, national parks, and its status as a major commercial, transport, and communications hub of Africa," Kananu said.
Etana also welcomed the opportunity for participants, mainly the youth, to display their products for sale during the festival, promoting youth businesses and local vendors.
