Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) has announced plans to open more sections of the Nairobi Expressway Road, providing relief to motorists.

On October 30th, 2021, the first section from Westland's to James Gichuru Road is expected to be opened, followed by the second section from Haile Selassie Avenue to University of Nairobi roundabout on December 15th, 2021.

According to KeNHA, the elevated section is 87.8 percent complete, and the completion of the expressway stands at 67.3 percent.

KeNHA is also constructing an operation and monitoring centre, which is 98 percent complete and set to be completed ahead of the road works.

“The two sections will be opened starting next week. The Authority is determined to fast track the ongoing works as we assure all road users that we will continually provide adequate diversion for smooth flow of traffic,” said KeNHA.
