On October 27, 2021, Talanta FC made a statement in the Football Federation Kenya Premier League by defeating Tusker FC 2-1 at Ruaraka Grounds in Nairobi.
Talanta took the lead in the 20th minute through Francis Kahiro, but Tusker FC levelled in the 56th minute through James Macharia. However, Kahiro scored the winner in the 62nd minute, securing a brace for Talanta FC.
The win marked a significant upset for Tusker FC, who are now winless in their first two league matches and remain rooted at the bottom of the table with zero points.
Meanwhile, Talanta FC are fifth on the log with seven points, two behind leaders Nairobi City Stars.
Tusker FC will be hoping for a better performance when they take on Wazito FC on October 30, 2021, while Talanta FC shifts focus to their next match against Bandari FC at Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.
