On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga took a break from his campaigns and jetted out of the country to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a conference on infrastructure development in Africa.

According to a statement signed by Odinga's Spokesperson Dennis Onyango, the ODM leader left at 4pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, to attend the conference in his capacity as the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.

At the conference, Odinga will raise awareness about the second phase of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA PAP2), which is being implemented from 2021-2030.

He will also engage stakeholders on the effective service delivery of infrastructure on the continent and brief the conference on infrastructure and energy improvements necessary for increased economic growth rate in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

It is expected that Odinga will return to the country next week.
