On October 27, 2021, the Africa Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) announced the appointment of new teams to spearhead the growth of table tennis in various commissions and committees.
The appointments were made following an Executive Committee meeting on October 19, 2021, which adopted lists of commissions and committees.
According to a letter from ATTF Officer Mokhtar Toukabri to all affiliate federations, the new teams will consider and recommend actions, propose policies, and provide guidance in their respective areas, subject to final approval by the ATTF Executive Committee.
Among the appointed officials are top Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA) officials, including Fahd Daim, who has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee, and Kweku Taundoh of Nigeria, who will head the committee.
Samson Ateka, KTTA's Media Liaison, has joined the ATTF Media Committee, which will be headed by Mohammed Elhacen of Mauritania.
Other appointed officials include Kennedy Otieno Kojal, who joins the Rules, Formation, and Development Committee, and KTTA Treasurer Madhu Gudka, who has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the Women's Committee.
These appointments are seen as a new beginning in the development of table tennis in the continent, with KTTA President Andrew Mudibo congratulating the appointed officials and expressing his confidence in their ability to bolster standards and transform lives through sport.
