On October 27, 2021, a tragic incident shook the Mandera community when a 14-year-old boy succumbed to burn injuries at the Mandera Referral Hospital.
According to police, the boy was lured to his elder brothers' house, doused in petrol, and set on fire due to an alleged mobile phone theft incident he had witnessed.
A Mandera court granted police a 14-day extension to conclude investigations, and the two suspects will undergo mental tests before facing murder charges.
