Kenya Revenue Authority's Directorate of Criminal Investigation has summoned Nairobi Acting Governor Ann Kananu Mwenda for questioning over alleged non-remittance of income tax, withholding tax, and PAYE.
The summons, dated October 27, 2021, was issued under the powers conferred by the National Police Act of 2011.
According to the letter, Kananu is required to appear before the investigators at the CBC building, wing D, 6th floor, along Elgon Road, Upper Hill, on October 27, 2021, at 10:00 am.
Failure to honor the summons will render her liable to prosecution under section 52(2) of the National Police Act.
Other officials summoned by the same unit include Finance CEC Allan Igambi and former Finance Chief Officer at Citryhall Halkano Waqo Diida.
