Apple's latest MacBook Pro and Air designs have sparked a mix of emotions among users. While some are excited about the new features, others are worried about the changes. As someone who has been using the M1 MacBook Pro 2020, I can attest to its efficiency and perfect performance.
When Apple redesigned the MacBook in 2016, they made the laptops thinner, removed the ports, introduced a new keyboard, and Touch Bar. However, this design had its own set of problems, including the thinness of the laptops, which made them get toasty with Intel processors' demands, the Touch Bar not working with many apps, and the need to carry dongles.
However, over time, Apple fixed these issues. The Apple M1 chip works well even without a fan, making the thin look no longer an issue affecting performance. The Escape Key returned, and more apps now support the Touch Bar. A significant number of people found ways to work with Type-C and dongles. And, Apple brought back the old Keyboard that has no problems.
So, with the M1 MacBooks, Apple finally had a design that was perfect for the chipset. That's why the laptops have ever since received high praise by different users across the world. And that's why I am hoping Apple sticks to this design.
For me, with the newly announced designs, it feels like I will be losing a couple of things should I upgrade: weight, battery life, keyboard, and Touch Bar. I understand that a couple of things need to change, and I am happy with them changing provided the current look, design, and weight doesn't change.
