Google has launched a new feature that helps users learn a new word every day, available on the Google app for both Android and iOS devices.

According to the tech giant, the feature is not limited to English learners but is also designed for fluent speakers. The feature mirrors what dictionary.com's app does by sharing a new word daily for users to learn about.

At the time of writing, the feature is only available for the English language, but Google expects support for more languages to be rolled out in the coming weeks or months.

To get started with learning new words every day, users can search for the definition of any English word on the Google app, write 'Define' followed by the word they want to get the meaning of, and tap on the bell icon to subscribe to receive daily words with their respective meanings.

The notifications will include a one-line explanation, and an option to see synonyms and further information about the word. Tapping on the notification will open a new search result page with detailed information.

Google also plans to roll out the ability to choose different difficulty levels, which will be particularly useful in separating learners from native speakers or those already proficient with the language.

Additionally, Google has introduced an instrument tuner that helps guitar players to tune their devices. To activate it, users can search 'Google Tuner' and get a fully functional tuner that will use their mic to listen to the sounds coming out of their guitar and tell them whether it is in tune.
