As 2021 draws to a close, Qualcomm is gearing up for a strong start to 2022 with the announcement of four new Snapdragon chipsets, targeting the entry and mid-range segments of the smartphone market.

These new chipsets, which include the Snapdragon 400, 600, and 700 series, are designed to bring 5G capabilities to a wider range of devices, making it easier for consumers to access high-speed internet and stay connected on the go.

Qualcomm's goal is to democratize 5G technology and make it more accessible to a broader audience, particularly in emerging markets such as India. To achieve this, the company is bringing advanced features from its high-end Snapdragon 800 series to more affordable price points, enabling consumers to enjoy better performance and functionality without breaking the bank.

Among the new chipsets, the Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G stands out for its enhanced in-game capabilities and improved AI performance, making it ideal for tasks such as picture and video editing. The Snapdragon 695 5G, on the other hand, supports 5G millimeter and sub-6GHz waves, offering improved graphics performance and a faster CPU component.

Qualcomm is also introducing the Snapdragon 680 Plus 4G, which features a 6nm engraving for improved performance, especially in games. Additionally, the company is highlighting the upgrade to a triple ISP for improved image quality in low-light conditions, all aided by AI.

Finally, the Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G CPU is designed to build on the success of its predecessor, the Snapdragon 480, which has been adopted by over 85 products in less than a year. With 5G cellular connectivity and increased performance, the 480 Plus 5G is poised to take the entry-level market by storm.
