Apple's next iPhone SE has been a topic of discussion for some time, with rumors suggesting a 2022 release date. According to display analyst Ross Young, the iPhone SE Plus will be released in 2022, but with a design similar to the 2020 model, featuring a 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen.

However, the iPhone SE Plus will have one significant upgrade - 5G connectivity, which will set it apart from its predecessor. This is a departure from Apple's traditional use of the 'Plus' suffix to designate a larger iPhone or one with more capabilities.

Other reports suggest that the iPhone SE will arrive with a Snapdragon X60 modem, which may be a cost-saving measure for Apple. However, this could also impact the device's battery life, as 5G consumes a lot of power.

But the real changes are expected to come in 2024, when the iPhone SE is expected to undergo significant design changes. According to Ross Young, the iPhone SE will feature a 6.1-inch display and a redesigned body similar to the late iPhone XR. It may also include Face ID face recognition technology and a fingerprint reader on one of its sides.

It's worth noting that the 2020 iPhone SE failed to impress in terms of battery life, and the new model may suffer from the same issue. However, the excellent equipment-to-price ratio of the iPhone SE is expected to remain a major selling point.

As for the A15 Bionic chip, it's expected to be the same as the one seen in the iPhone 13, which will provide a significant boost to the device's performance.
