On Monday, October 25, 2021, Cheryl and Stephanie Murgor returned to Langata Police Station to provide more information about the alleged assault. They were accompanied by a key witness, Patrick Koech, who had previously recorded a statement with the police.

According to their lawyer, Philip Murgor, Koech had attended an event at a city hotel where the sisters claimed to have been attacked. The incident gained national attention after a video spread on social media showing the sisters and the Ndichu brothers in an altercation at the hotel.

The sisters had previously told a press conference in Nairobi that they were assaulted at a wedding after-party event on the night of October 16. They also informed the police about a third person who they claimed took part in the assault, although they did not know the person's name.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had directed the police to dig deeper into the matter before resubmitting their findings. In a letter dated October 21, DPP Noordin Haji outlined 10 points that the investigators were required to cover, including recorded statements from independent witnesses and analysis of CCTV footage.
