On October 25, Pesapal introduced a cutting-edge smart POS machine designed to streamline merchant operations and enhance customer experiences in East Africa.
The innovative device, Pesapal Sabi Smart POS, integrates everyday tools with payment processing, enabling merchants to manage their business workflow more efficiently.
With the growth of payment technologies, consumers now have various payment options, but this has also posed a challenge to businesses managing multiple payment devices.
“While this accelerates financial inclusion, it poses a challenge to businesses managing multiple payment devices,” said Pesapal CEO Mark Mwongela during the pilot launch in Nairobi.
The Pesapal Sabi smart POS terminal runs on the Android Operating System and accepts VISA, mVISA, Mastercard, and MPESA payments, making it easy to use.
According to Pesapal Technical Director Fred Mwangima, the device's capabilities go beyond payment processing, allowing merchants to connect to third-party apps and manage business functions such as customer loyalty management and store synchronization.
