Published on October 26, 2021, Ethic Entertainment, a Gengetone group, has been making waves in the music industry with their unique sound.
The group consists of Rekles, SWAT Mtoto wa Eunice, Seska, and Zilla, who were once regular hustlers before venturing into music. Rekles, for instance, worked at a movie shop before joining the group.
Their debut single, Lamba Lolo, released in 2018, has surpassed their expectations, with over 5.1 million views on YouTube. In a recent interview on Churchill Show, they revealed that they initially expected only 5 to 10 thousand views.
After realizing that no producer wanted to work with them, the group edited the video themselves, which was shot on a low budget in Umoja, where they grew up. The video's success led to them receiving calls to perform in concerts and clubs.
Their second song, Pandana, has also been a hit, with over 6.5 million views. Despite criticism of the Gengetone genre, Ethic has stood their ground and re-ignited the genre with their latest release, Fanya.
