Published on October 24, 2021, 'Stones Bounce On Water' is a gripping tale by Ugandan author Dilman Dila. The story takes place at the Paulson's residence, where five friends - Tim Collins, Peter, Chelsea Creole, and the Paulson's - gather for a fun-filled evening.

However, the night takes a dark turn when a firecracker explodes, and Winnie accuses her friends of plotting to kill her. The next day, Simon, the chef, takes Tim to a nearby pond, where he demonstrates how to make stones bounce on water. Simon also reveals that the pond is a taboo site where dead bodies are disposed of, fueling Winnie's suspicions that her killers plan to dump her body there.

As the investigation unfolds, Sergeant Pascal Kivumbi is called in to help find Winnie. At the pond, he discovers unrecognizable footprints and a toe emerging from the water, leading to a dramatic revelation. Despite the evidence, the case against Tim, Peter, Chelsea, and the Paulson's falls apart due to lack of concrete evidence.

Years later, Peter marries Chelsea, with Tim serving as the best man, while the Paulson's skip the wedding. However, their relationship is put to the test when Tim and Peter disagree over Winnie's property, ultimately leading to the court's decision on her killer.
