On Saturday night, a tragic incident unfolded in Bomet, Kenya, where a man was allegedly killed by his neighbour over a debt of Sh400.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has confirmed the arrest of the suspect, Evans Mutai, who is accused of stabbing the deceased on the chest.
According to the DCI, the incident followed an argument over the debt, which the deceased owed the shopkeeper. The victim was left for dead outside the shop.
A concerned resident of Chesoen village stumbled upon the body and informed detectives at the Chesoen police station.
The suspect was later apprehended, and a blood-stained knife was recovered as evidence.
Evans Mutai is set to be arraigned in court on Monday to face murder charges.
The body of the deceased has been taken to the Longisa hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
