Published on October 24, 2021, a study revealed that tattoos are the most common body decorations in the world, with an estimated 38% of young adults sporting at least one tattoo.
Despite their popularity, many people are hesitant to get a tattoo due to the fear of pain. But which body parts are the most painful to tattoo?
According to experts, areas with many nerve endings, close to the bone, with thin skin, or without much fat, are the most painful to tattoo. These include the armpits, ankles, rib cage, nipples and breasts, elbows, groin, behind the knee, head, face, lips, and toes.
On the other hand, the least painful areas to get tattooed are the upper thigh, forearm, outer shoulders, and biceps.
