As COVID-19 cases surge in the UK, churches and religious centers in Kenya are reviewing their capacity to accommodate 2/3 of their usual attendees, a move that comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta eased COVID-19 restrictions in the country.

Published on October 24, 2021, this development follows a decrease in COVID-19 cases in Kenya, but concerns are rising over the increased cases in the UK, where health authorities have reported 45,000 new cases in the last 14 weeks.

With a total of 44,985 persons testing positive for the disease since the epidemic began, the overall number of infections in the UK has reached 8,734,934, and the total number of Covid victims has risen to 139,461, following 135 additional deaths.

The increase in cases on Saturday, October 23, 2021, was the most on a Saturday since July 17, when 54,674 people tested positive, and cases increased by 49,298 the previous day, with 180 more deaths reported.
