Born in the small hilly village of Kirwanda, O'sababu's love for music began at a young age. He would sing in school choirs and later pursued a career in music, releasing his first album in 1978.

His music was not only popular in his community but also across the country. He was known for his unique style and his ability to communicate the needs of his community through his songs.

One of his most notable songs was sung during a visit by former President Daniel Moi to Nyamira, Kisii. The song communicated the community's need for infrastructure development.
