On October 22, 2021, Kisumu Central MP Fred Ouda found himself in a precarious situation after being arrested by the authorities.

The MP is accused of leading a group of his supporters in attacking opponents at a restaurant in Milimani Estate, with the County Commander, Richard Ngeno, stating that he is being held for interrogation on issues of incitement and malicious damage to property.

At the time of his arrest, Ouda was being held at the Kisumu Central Police Station, with the incident unfolding near Patel flats along the Kisumu Kakamega road.
