Published on October 19, 2021, Kalekye Mumo, a renowned media personality, has been open about her struggles to find love and settle down in marriage. At the age of 45, she remains single and childless.
According to Kalekye, finding a good man and settling down is hard in today's society. She has attempted to date but has been unsuccessful in her endeavors.
During an interview on NTV, Kalekye shared her experiences, stating that as an empowered woman, she has found it difficult to date. She believes that there is a misconception that an empowered woman cannot listen or be respectful to a man.
'As an empowered woman, as a woman who has worked hard has been seen to do many things it has been difficult for me to date,' Kalekye said.
She further emphasized that she is still single because of this belief, adding that she should be able to help even more if she has worked harder and is doing well.
'I am still single because there is that belief that you are now a woman who now cannot listen, will not help me whereas the truth is if I have worked harder am doing well I should be able to help even more,' Kalekye said.
Many believe that Kalekye may end up like Caroline Mutoko, another successful woman who has adopted children due to her inability to find a partner.
