A family in Moi's Bridge is in agony after losing contact with their kin, who traveled to Saudi Arabia to work.
Cheruto Mutai, a 30-year-old house cleaner from Moi's Bridge, left the country on October 6, 2021, after securing employment through an agent.
Two days later, she confirmed through social media to her sister, Sara Ruto, that she had arrived safely in Saudi Arabia.
However, Cheruto later sent audio messages through WhatsApp to her sister, lamenting that they were being mistreated by their host alongside the women she had traveled with.
"Hello brother, here in the office we were kept there is no water and no one seems concerned about us. Actually, our life is in danger," she said in the recording.
According to Sara Ruto, Cheruto's phone has been off for nine days now, and the family is worried sick.
The family is now pleading with anyone who may have information about Cheruto's whereabouts to come forward.
