On the night of September 29, 2021, a dramatic turn of events unfolded in Muguga, Kiambu county, when a knife-wielding robber met his untimely demise at the hands of his intended victim.

Evans Atuya, 35, had stormed into Godwin Wanyama's house in Muguga, Kabete sub-county, at 2am, accompanied by two accomplices. The trio had used a huge rock to knock down Wanyama's door, rudely awakening him from his slumber.

As the thugs attempted to subdue Wanyama, a scuffle ensued. However, Wanyama proved to be a force to be reckoned with, dispossessing Atuya of the knife and stabbing him in the neck. The suspect's accomplices fled the scene, leaving Atuya to succumb to his injuries.

Neighbours who had been awakened by the commotion arrived at the scene to find Wanyama had already apprehended the situation. Muguga police station officers, led by the officer commanding the station, confirmed that a break-in had occurred, with only door hinges and a few nails remaining on the door frame.

Crime scene detectives collected sufficient clues to identify the other suspects, whose arrest is imminent. Detectives advise victims of attacks from armed thugs to avoid confrontation whenever possible.
