On October 17, 2021, the National Police Service (NPS) addressed rumors circulating on social media and online platforms that Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai was unwell.
According to a tweet from the Police Headquarters' official handle, Mutyambai is 'healthy and on duty.'
The clarification came after Mutyambai returned to the country on Sunday morning following a tour of duty in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, where he participated in the 23rd Annual General Meeting for the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO).
