Published on October 15, 2021, Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba has been removed from her vice-chair position on the Transport Committee in the National Assembly.
According to Majority Whip Emmanuel Wangwe, Ms Wamuchomba has been moved to the Agriculture Committee, but as an ordinary member.
Ms Wamuchomba, who recently decamped from the Kieleweke faction that supports President Uhuru Kenyatta to the Tangatanga camp that supports Deputy President William Ruto, attributed her removal to her political inclination.
"I was a victim for supporting William Ruto. Anybody who supports the DP is ejected from leadership committees. I'm therefore a victim," she said.
Ms Wamuchomba also alleged that she was kicked out for calling out lazy contractors who take too long to finish road projects.
Other MPs affected by the changes include Kirinyaga Central MP John Munene, who moved from Justice and Legal Affairs to Administration and National Security, and Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono, who will now serve on the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee.
