On October 8, 2021, the 8-Goal-Wine Box Polo Championships took place at Manyatta Polo Club in Gilgil, Nakuru, where Sanlam and Samurai teams secured their spots in the next round.
Sanlam, consisting of Kimoi Moi (2.5), Craig Millar (3.5), Gordy Millar (2), and Georgina Millar, defeated their opponents 4-3. Georgina Millar was named the man of the match, scoring two goals in the second and fourth chukkas and making assists for three goals scored by Kimoi Moi and Craig Millar.
Kimoi Moi praised Georgina Millar's performance, stating, "Although we won, it was a tough match as our opponents were equally good but kudos to Georgina for a good show in the entire four chukkas," in an interview with Standard Sports.
Samurai, led by Raphael Nzomo (handicap 2.5), Hansi Bruins (handicap 3.5), and Fred Kambo, defeated Past It 6-5.5. Nzomo was instrumental in the victory, setting up Bruins to score the first two goals and wrapping up the match with a classic winner in the final chukka.
Samurai's victory marked their progress to the next level, with Nzomo expressing their happiness and determination to move forward, saying, "We are happy to have squeezed the victory as we move into the next level. We are taking a match after the other up to the finals," in an interview.
