Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka Was Not Booed In Nakuru ¶
Published on October 8, 2021, a tweet by the Daily Post claimed that Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Party, was nearly beaten up in Nakuru for allegedly insulting Deputy President William Ruto.
However, a fact-check reveals that the claim is false. Footage from the event, posted on Mutembei TV's YouTube channel on September 22, shows Kalonzo addressing a crowd without any visible attempt by Nakuru residents to beat him up.
According to the footage, Kalonzo did not refer to the Deputy President as a thief, but rather stated that 'someone steals from you today, and bribes you tomorrow to praise him.' He did not mention any name(s).
It is worth noting that Kalonzo was in Nakuru to campaign ahead of the 2022 General Election and was welcomed by Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
Therefore, the tweet by Daily Post that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was nearly beaten in Nakuru is false.
