On Wednesday morning, police discovered the lifeless bodies of George Agusa and his wife Mary in their semi-permanent home in Nyabomite, Nyamira County.
According to reports, the couple had been experiencing marital problems for the past three months, with a relative revealing that the issues had been ongoing since August.
A suicide note found at the scene revealed that Agusa had been struggling with the idea of his wife's alleged infidelity with an MCA aspirant, which he claimed had been going on for some time.
Agusa, a gospel musician, had written a note to his children, detailing the events leading up to the tragic incident, including a day when his wife had hit him with a cup on the face after he confronted her about the alleged affair.
Police recovered a machete and a knife from the scene, and investigations into the deaths have been launched by Nyamira South Sub-County Commander Moses Kirong.
Agusa's final words, as recorded in the suicide note, were a poignant reminder of his love for his music and his family, as he instructed his children to 'take care of the music tools' and 'use the sound system to preach.'
