On October 6th, 2021, Kenya's Ministry of Health reported 130 new Covid-19 cases, increasing the country's caseload to 250,510.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the new cases were identified from 4,869 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of Covid-19 tests conducted to 2,586,260.
The cases comprised 127 Kenyans and three foreigners, with 74 males and 56 females, ranging in age from one year to 99 years.
Of the new cases, 222 patients have recovered, with 169 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program and 53 from various health facilities countrywide.
There are currently 865 patients admitted to various health facilities and 1,906 under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
Additionally, 56 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit, with 36 on ventilatory support and 20 on supplemental oxygen.
The cases are distributed across various counties, with Nairobi reporting 33 cases, followed by Kericho, Meru, and Nakuru.
